| Vietnamese Stir-Fry Veges my style |
This vegetable stir-fry is very easy to make. The ingredients needed mostly are vegetables such as quartered tomatoes, shreded cabbage, half-fry tofu, cut cauliflower, julienne cucumber (making sure that you take scoop out the seeds), julienne baby carrots, chopped onions, chopped garlic, and mixed sprouts.
First, fry the cut tofu until lightly brown. Then saute the onions, garlic, and jalapeno peppers (optional). Add a pinch of salt or Mrs. Dash, and powdered pepper/white pepper. Saute them for about 5 minutes. Then add all the vegetable ingredients, and 1 tsp of soy sauce if needed. Slowly and gradually stir the vegetables until they are cooked. Once cooked, let it set for 5 minutes to cool.
Oh!! You can add 1 tsp of sesame seed oil to have that tangy taste of chinese, but it's not necessary.Labels: Asian |

| Beef Chutney: My style |
Well to those who are tired of making hamburger or meatloaf or meat balls from the ground beef. Here is another recipe that you can use to make something out of those ground beef!!
Ingredients:
Handful of ground beef or more if you so like it 1 small red potato (quarterly cut) (Optional) 3 Curry leaves 3 shallots (half cut) 3 fresh garlic (chopped) 2 tbsp oil 1/2 cup water 3 stalks parsley or cilantro (throw the stalk, chopped the leaves) 1 jalapeno pepper (sliced) 4 dried chillies (soak & half cut; throw the seeds away) salt & pepper or Mrs. Dash/No Salt to taste 1 or 2 tbsp Rasam powder
Methods:
- Saute the cut shallots, garlic, & jalapeno pepper for a few seconds.
- Add a dash or two salt & pepper and rasam powder.
- Then add the dried chillies
- Put the ground beef into the sauteed mixture
- Add the curry leaves into the mixture. Stir gently. Cook at low heat.
- Add the water gradually. Don't pour too much water because the beef will eventually produce more water.
- Add the quarterly cut potato (optional)
- Then add the cilantro and stir gently.
- Add another tbsp of rasam powder and Mrs. Dash.
- Cooked for half an hour or until the water 1/2 evaporated at very low heat. Stir gently.
Let it cool for 5 minutes before eating. Can be eaten with cooked rice, instant noodles, or bread or wraps. Labels: Asian |

| Tomato chutney ala Malay style |
(In the middle of cooking: Beginning)
Well, finally I decided to cook something today. This was taught to me by an Indian lady last year, but I gave it my own twist to this. It can be eaten with a bread or instant noodles or cooked rice (any kind).
Ingredients:
About 5 or more small size tomatoes (quarter cut) 3 Curry leaves 3 shallots (half cut) 3 fresh garlic (chopped) 2 tbsp oil 1/2 cup water 5 stalks parsley or cilantro (throw the stalk, chopped the leaves) 1 jalapeno pepper (sliced) 4 dried chillies (soak & half cut; throw the seeds away) salt & pepper or Mrs. Dash/No Salt to taste 1 or 2 tbsp Rasam powder
Methods:
- Saute the cut shallots, garlic, & jalapeno pepper for a few seconds. Add a dash or two salt & pepper and rasam powder.
- Then add the dried chillies
- Put the quarterly cut tomatoes into the sauteed mixture
- Add the curry leaves into the mixture. Stir gently. Cook at low heat.
- Add the water gradually. Don't pour too much water because the tomato will eventually produce more water.
- Then add the cilantro and stir gently.
- Add another tbsp of rasam powder and Mrs. Dash.
- Cooked for half an hour or until the water 3/4 evaporated at very low heat. Stir gently.
 (After cooking)
Once cooked let it stand for 5 minutes to cool before eating. If you like it spicy, add red hot pepper powder to the mixture and stir gently. Labels: Asian |

| Rojak |

I make rojak for my lunch. It's so easy to make:
1) Rojak sauce 2) Jicama cut into small pieces 3) Pineapple already cut or you can use canned ones 4) Cucumber cut into small pieces 5) Chopped roasted peanuts 6) Extra firm tofu cut into small pieces and fry lightly until brown
All the ingredients set aside. Put some chopped peanuts into another small bowl and pour some hot water. Then scoop about 3 tbsp of rojak sauce and stir to taste. Yummms... this is one spicy rojak, my version that is...
Enjoy!!Labels: Asian |
